Here is a classic shot of life in Changsha.  The storekeeper on the block around the corner from my apartment is playing his usual game of Chinese chess on top of a ice cream cooler while eating his 牛肉缅 (beef noodle soup).  

Easy-going and laid-back.  

You see this everywhere you go on the streets of Changsha, and at all hours of the day.  Just let me also say, the Chinese know how to run the night.
